JENNIFER IS NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Hi, I'm Jennifer Holt — but feel free to call me Jenn.

I'm awaiting to get my Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) licensure. With over seven years of experience supporting youth. As a full-time Middle School Counselor, I bring deep understanding and empathy to my work in private practice. I specialize in helping children, teens, and young adults navigate anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, school stress, and life transitions in a space that affirms who they are.

“I believe that every person carries the strength they need within them. My role is to help you uncover that strength, especially during the times it feels furthest from reach. Healing doesn’t mean going it alone—it means finding the courage to ask for help, and the support to keep moving forward."

How do you describe yourself as a therapist?

I am an LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive therapist who values creating a safe, inclusive space where clients feel seen and empowered. I also work with adults who are seeking to heal from past experiences, manage stress, and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or gain clarity and confidence in their personal growth.

Who do I primarily work with?

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, identity exploration, trauma, life transitions, academic stress, and relationship challenges.

As a current School Counselor, I bring a deep understanding of the emotional and developmental needs of young people, and I am well-equipped to support them through a variety of challenges.

Who would not be a good fit for you?

Clients who are looking for a highly directive or confrontational therapeutic style may not find my approach the best fit. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach that emphasizes building trust and exploring emotions at a comfortable pace. I may also not be a good fit for clients needing a highly structured or rigid therapeutic framework. While I do draw from specific curricula or structured modalities as needed, my approach is more fluid and adaptable. Additionally, I may not be the best match for individuals who require intensive, immediate care for severe crisis situations. However, for those transitioning out of a crisis, I am happy to offer ongoing therapeutic support to help them process and heal from their experiences.

Methods I use

I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach that draws from evidence-based

methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed

practices. With children and adolescents, I incorporate creative tools such as play, art, and interactive activities to help them express themselves in developmentally appropriate ways. I choose methods that foster emotional safety, build self-awareness, and support each client’s unique goals. My focus is always on creating a trusting, affirming space where clients feel empowered to grow, heal, and thrive.
