  • Simply schedule a free 15-minute consultation call through our contact page. This is a no-pressure conversation to discuss your needs and see if we're the right fit. There's no commitment required.

  • Before your first session, consider your goals for therapy and note any important personal issues or symptoms. Your counselor will explore these with you it's a collaborative conversation, not an interrogation. You set the pace.

  • Your therapist will provide a supportive and confidential space, offer empathetic listening, and guide you with professionalism. They'll establish clear goals, respect your boundaries, and may occasionally give exercises to support your progress. They'll regularly evaluate and adjust the approach to meet your needs.

Cultural Understanding

  • Traditionally, seeking therapy has been stigmatized in many Asian cultures it can feel like admitting weakness, bringing shame to the family, or airing private matters. At Safe Space, we understand these cultural barriers deeply. Our Asian-led team is here to help you navigate them without judgment.

  • Yes. Our therapists include fluent Mandarin speakers (Alice Zhao, Mark Wang), Hindi speakers (Aanchal Mohanty), and therapists with lived South Asian experience (Divya Saseendranath, originally from India). You won't need to explain what it means to be caught between cultures they already understand.

  • Absolutely. Many of our clients come specifically because of family pressure academic expectations, career demands, marriage expectations, or intergenerational conflict. Our therapists are trained to work within cultural context and help you find your own path while honoring your roots.

  • Yes, everything you share in therapy is strictly confidential, protected by law. We also offer online sessions so you don't need to worry about running into anyone. Your privacy is our priority.

Services & Approach

  • Brainspotting is a powerful therapeutic technique that uses focused eye positions to access and process emotional and psychological pain stored in the subcortical brain areas that traditional talk therapy can't always reach. It's particularly effective for trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and grief. Alice Zhao is our lead Brainspotting specialist.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well-researched technique that uses eye movements to help your brain process difficult memories and feelings especially those related to trauma or abuse. Emily Lamoreaux is our EMDR specialist.

  • Yes! We offer both online and in-person sessions. Online therapy is especially helpful for those with busy schedules, those who travel, or those who prefer the privacy of connecting from home.

  • Yes. Sarah Moss specializes in working with children, teens, and young adults. We use age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches and creative tools. When helpful, we also collaborate with caregivers to support communication and growth.

Insurance & Availability

  • We are in-network with major insurances including BCBS, Carefirst, Cigna, Aetna, and JHU (Wellfleet). Please contact us to verify your specific plan and coverage before scheduling.

  • We are accepting clients Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. We accommodate busy work schedules and offer extended evening hours.
